Aaron Tofani

Partner, Director of Real Estate

As Director of Real Estate at Fountainhead Development, Aaron manages all acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing and legal documentation while providing further oversight to the development team. Day-to day, he brings together all elements of the development process to ensure timely and cost-effective execution of Fountainhead’s development plans. His experience in real estate spans many aspects of the retail real estate development business including construction, environmental engineering, finance, development, and retail operations.

Prior to Fountainhead, Aaron was the Senior Investment Manager at Paragon Commercial Group in El Segundo, CA. Similarly to Fountainhead, he was responsible for managing nearly every aspect of the development process on over 1,000,000 square feet of retail development projects during a six-year period. Additionally, Aaron performed all underwriting and analysis on every deal Paragon considered and acquired over that time period including all deals executed through a revolving $100 Million equity fund with CalPERS and Canyon Partners.

While working for Paragon, Aaron Co-Founded Rance’s
Chicago Pizza in Costa Mesa, CA. At Rance’s, he oversees store operations and manages all real estate activities for the company including self-contracting construction of the 3,000 square foot Long Beach flagship location in Belmont Shore, the 2nd location in the chain. Aaron is also an Executive Board Member of the Belmont Shore Business
Association and serves on the City of Long Beach’s Belmont Shore Parking and Business Improvement Commission, in addition to partnering on fundraising events with many local non-profit organizations.

Aaron started in commercial real estate at the age of nineteen working for his father’s environmental engineering and construction firm, Applied GeoKinetics, based in Irvine, CA. While working full time at GeoKinetics, Aaron earned a bachelor’s degree in finance graduating summa cum laude with double honors from California State University, Fullerton. He worked for a $300,000,000 equity fund after graduating and went on to earn a Master in Real Estate Development degree from University of Southern California where he was awarded “Best Comp” for the program’s capstone exam and was President of the Entrepreneur Round Table.

For fun Aaron enjoys surfing, snowboarding, horseback riding, stand-up paddle boarding, fishing, golfing, camping, riding his bike, and many other outdoor activities. He has jet-skied from Dana Point to Catalina and back, climbed Mt. Whitney at the age of twelve, and ridden twenty-foot waves stand-up paddle boarding on the North Shore of Kauai.
